1989 Van De Stadt 38

1989 Van De Stadt 38

A superbly constructed and exceptionally well presented sailing vessel and a fine example of the popular Van de Stadt. 'Adamas' is a gorgeous example and has been described by the surveyor (who was present throughout the entire refit) as "The Labour Of Love" - she has had nearly one million dollars spent on her in since 2009 and the quality truly shows.

This Van De Stadt 38 has a rigid, semi enclosed cockpit which comfortably seats 8 & the skipper has great visibility and protection through the Perspex. All of the lines come back to the cockpit and have 2 way self tailing winches which makes her an exceptional sea boat and great for solo sailing. The cockpit has a stainless steel bracket, canvas bimini with clear, attachable zip sides that extend over the main hatch. When connected, the entire cockpit becomes enclosed and is fully weather proof. The cockpit also includes cushions for the outdoor seats and a table that unfolds for when it comes to entertaining guests.

Over the last 10 years she has been completely rebuilt, from stem to stern all by a qualified shipwright. She is triple diagonal cold moulded. One layer of Western Red Cedar & two of Eucalyptus. All glued and secured in the traditional manner of 'pinning'.

Inside the saloon, 'Adamas' is well lit due to an ample amount of windows. She has teak floors and gorgeous navy blue leather couches - one of which converts into a double berth, bringing her overnight capability to 7 guest's. She has two double quarter berths aft with ample storage and great access to the engine bay should it be required. Up forward is a great storage room, with a toilet, hot shower and a bath. The galley has a huge amount of refrigeration space, consisting of one 60L fridge, a smaller cheese fridge of about 20 Litres, and an additional 60L freezer.

The engine bay consists of a Yanmar 4JH4E which is a 40KW Diesel motor using only 2-3LPH at cruising speed which is about 6 knots.
This Van De Stadt was last slipped in July at Lawries boatyard, received a fresh antifoul and various other works done - she is ready to cruise the coast today!
